These are all settings that were rewritten for the new texts. Note: I have used all of these settings in one form or another and have no hesitation in recommending them. For settings written for the new texts see here.
“The Eucharistic Prayer demands that all listen to it with reverence and in silence,” giving voice to their interior participation by joining in the Eucharistic acclamations
US Bishops
Celtic Liturgy – Christopher Walker
Available from Decani Music and also OCP under the title ‘Gaelic Mass’.
Laudate revised 553-555
This fits really well with the revised words, especially the 1st memorial acclamation.
Gathering Mass – Paul Inwood
Laudate revised 570-572
CFE Revised 433-437
This setting would not have been allowed if it had been newly composed but because it was a legacy setting it was passed. It should be noted that the hosanna refrain after the memorial acclamation is now optional. But if it helps people to join in then use it. That was the original intention and the principle of people singing if they know something still holds good.
The revised parts are also available from Magnificat Music. (You will need to scroll down.) Note that the price does not include postage.
Coventry Acclamations – Paul Inwood
Laudate revised 573-575
CFE revised 425-425
OCP
Originally composed for the Papal Mass at Coventry in 1982, this is still a good setting for a big occasion. Unfortunately, we can no longer have the ‘Christ has died, alleluia’ acclamation which we always used at Easter but such is life!
Mass of Peace – Bodley
Laudate revised 556-558
This was one of the earliest settings we used in my home Parish. A nice, simple setting which is easy for the assembly to pick up and sing.
Mass of Hope – Bernadette Farrell
Laudate revised 559-562
CFE revised 428-432
OCP Click on ‘view songs’ for audio links
In my opinion, this one doesn’t work as well as some. Maybe because it was so well set originally, with the music for ‘God of power and might’. But it is still singable and worth using, especially if you have it in your hymn book.
Mass of Christ the Saviour – Dan Shutte
Although this is a revised setting, it is not one I knew before the new translation. Quite a pleasant melody which makes it easy to pick up. There are 3-part harmonies for the choir and instrument parts should you wish to use them. There is a resemblance to the theme tune of a popular cartoon series featuring small horses.
Mass of Creation – Marty Haugen
Laudate revised 490-494
CFE revised 439-441
GIA (Make sure you get the correct version)
An excellent setting for both organ and guitar based singing. Unsurprising, as this is exactly why it was composed.

[…] If your congregation were used to singing the acclamations prior to 2011 then you may find a revised setting to be most useful as they won’t need to learn a completely new tune. See examples of revised settings here. […]
